Town Youth Council chair's ouster sought
By Edmund Sestoso

THE Youth Council of Zamboanguita town asked their Provincial Federation to oust Barangay Mayabon Chairperson and Municipal Youth Council Federation president Michelle Trinidad for neglect of duty arising from her pregnancy.

The administrative complaint has been filed before Joseph Arvin Cabio, Youth Council provincial federation president and provincial board member representing the youth sector.

The complainants are Rhea Debbielou Partosa, of Poblacion; Krystel Entea, Basak; Mervin Elopre, Najandig; Mark Anthony Bantaya, Malongcay; Melody Delmo, Maluay; Gladys Japon, Lutoban; Alma Deloria, Calango; Fretzel Cabus, Nabago; and Melissa Villarosa of Nasig-id.

The Youth Council leaders alleged that Trinidad violated the law and committed "acts inimical to public service and grossly prejudicial to the group's interest".

They claimed that Trinidad is bereft of moral behavior because during her incumbency as Youth Council federation president she was impregnated casting moral and social doubts on her person.

"Such immoral conduct and behavior has grossly exposed to shame the organizational structure and its rank and file," the group said.

Poblacion Youth Council leader Rhea Partosa said when Trinidad became pregnant, she filed an indefinite leave of absence without stating its purpose and reason that had resulted to "habitual absenteeism and gross dereliction of duty".

Partosa said the Youth Council president failed to assume and perform the duties of her office from March 2004 up to February 2005, a period of eleven months, affecting public service.

Trinidad is a niece of Municipal Councilor Flor Trinidad, a former member of the administration party before she defected to the opposition group in the last election.
