Victim offers P100T reward By Syril G. Repe
THE businessman who has been a victim of two aborted attempts against his life has offered a reward of P100,000 to any person who could give information that would lead to the arrest of the people behind the attacks.
Conrado Cabauatan, 78, married, of Mango Avenue in Barangay Piapi, and owner of Allymae Enterprises, offered the reward following another attempt against his life Wednesday afternoon last week.
Cabauatan sustained bullet wounds on his left cheek, the bullet exiting through his right face.
Police investigators said Cabauatan was on his way home with his helper, Leah Magnolia Espededo, and a granddaughter aboard a pickup vehicle when two men on board a motorcycle appeared and fired at him.
After the attack, the assailants sped away and disappeared. Bystanders helped rush the wounded businessman to Silliman University Medical Center for treatment.
The police recovered a .45 caliber empty shell about 10 meters from the vehicle and a.45 caliber slug inside his vehicle.
Cabauatan was also attacked, but survived, in front of his store in Barangay Pulantubig, Dumaguete City.
