Norsu students win city search for Mr. and Ms. Tourism 2005

THE observance of Tourism Month in Bayawan City culminated on September 21 with the search for Mr. & Ms. Tourism 2005.

Raymond Barrot and Erlinda Laog, both taking up Bachelor of Business Administration at Negros Oriental State University (Norsu)-Bayawan, Sta. Catalina campus, won the competition.

City tourism operation assistant Raffy Duhaylungsod said the other winners were: for first runner-up, Neythan Earl Seniel and Corynee Tienda of Bayawan National High School and second runner-up were Bayawan College's Orveal Belasa and Meleva Ilagan.

Barot and Laog also won the best in festival presentation. The best in interview award (male) went to Seniel and best in interview (female) went to Laog.

The Norsu contestants also won best in attire, Mr. & Ms. Sara Lee, and best in talent. Miss Photogenic went to Tienda. The Mr. Congeniality award went to Jhon Raymus of Kalumboyan High School while Ms. Congeniality was Sysil Cinco of Tabuan High School.

The award for Mr. & Ms. professionalism went to Jhon Rey Olores and May Torefranca of Tayawan High School.

The judges were Commander Alex Bloom, a lawyer from the USA, Lincoln Diao, general manager Trenthshope, Engineer Jeremias Gallo, personnel manager of HTCI, Bernadette Velasco, economics graduate of St. Vincent College in Dipolog City, and Sylvia Vasquez, chairman of the board of judges and president of Shaman Air Philippines.
