Guv reiterates full support to Task Force 24 Hours
By Maricar Aranas

GOVERNOR George Arnaiz reiterated Tuesday his full support to Task Force 24 Hours after it scored a major gain in the campaign against illegal drugs with the arrest of two brothers and the seizure of more than 54 grams of what is believed to be shabu estimated at P150,000 Monday.

The arrest of Ronaldo and Richard Libby in their house in Poblacion Barangay 2 came at the start of the celebration of the anti-illegal drugs week on November 13-19.

Arnaiz said the arrest of the two alleged major illegal drug dealers showed the task force members were doing their job.

The governor, however, admitted that illegal drug trafficking would be difficult to eliminate because it is a lucrative activity that earns easy money notwithstanding the risk.

He reiterated that as a result of task force "good performance," the Regional Development Council (RDC), which he heads has become convinced to replicate the group in the regional level.

At the moment, the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) is completing the details of the proposed Regional Task Force 24 that were presented to the body during its meeting last month, Arnaiz disclosed.

Meanwhile, the governor assured that Capitol would continue its budgetary support to the peace and order campaign of the Philippine National Police even as it was strengthening the activities of the anti-illegal drug body.
