Orphan, 9, raped

GUIHULNGAN, Negros Oriental -- A nine-year-old orphan broke her silence Monday and reported that she had been raped several times by the son of the owners of the house where she was staying in Sitio Mantuhod, Barangay Villegas.
Aida (not her real name), accompanied by the day care worker of Barangay Villegas, reported the incident to the police.
The orphan identified the suspect as Ronilo Soreno and said that the last time she was raped was on Saturday inside the Soreno house.
Aida told the Women's and Children's Desk of the Guihulngan police that she could not remember anymore the dates and the number of times she was abused sexually.
The victim said she did not inform anybody about her ordeal because the suspect had threatened to kill her if she did.
The police report did not say if Soreno was arrested.
