Inter-LGU basketball clashes ongoing By Syril G. Repe
BASKETBALL teams of towns and cities all over Negros Oriental have started their court-encounter elimination for the Governor's Cup-Congressional District Inter-Cities and Municipalities basketball Tournament.
Joe Guirit, tournament director said the opening game for the 2nd District was held at the Amlan Quadrangle with Mayor Bentham dela Cruz of Amlan town welcoming the different participating local government units (LGUs). The quest honor was Governor George P. Arnaiz.
In the first district, Mayor Judith Cardenas of Canlaon City welcomed the teams of participating LGU's. Congressman Jing Paras was guest of honor.
Quirit said the top four teams in each congressional district will represent their district to the Governor's Cup Provincial Championships to be held at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete City on May 6-14.

Game 2 - Sibulan 89 vs Bais City 70
Game 3 - Amlan 94 vs Pamplona 91
1st District Results of the game played:
Game 1 - Bindoy 85 vs Jimalalud 56
Game 2 - Guihulgan 90 vs Manjuyod 78
Game 3 - Tayasan 78 vs Ayungon 62
Game 4 - Canlaon City 70 vs La libertad 44
