Rotarians reach out to Siquijor By Victor L. Camion
ROTARY Clubs Zone D3 in Negros Oriental served thousand of residents in the island province of Siquijor through their free medical, dental, and legal services on April 1 and 2.
Zone D3 is composed of Rotarian members from the cities of Dumaguete, Tanjay, Bais, and Bayawan.
Lawyer Raymund Mercado, president of the Rotary Club of Dumaguete East and public relations officer of Rotary Clubs Zone D3 headed by Assistant Governor Youman Uymatiao, said the medical, dental and legal missions were held in barangays Campalanas in the town of Lazi and Candaping in Maria and Siquijor Provincial Hospital.
The medical mission included circumcision and minor surgeries.
Dr. Danny Olegario headed the medical mission, Dr. Alice Reyes the dental mission and Mercado, the legal mission.
Mercado said volunteers, including undergraduate doctors and nurses, have always been a part of the Rotary's mission to answer the call of "service above self."
