Guv, police group to get plaque of recognition By Victor L. Camion
THE Provincial Board of Negros Oriental, for the first time, would award a plaque of recognition to Governor George Arnaiz and Task Force 24-hours for commendable efforts to curb criminalities and successfully maintain the peace and order not only in the city of Dumaguete but the whole province.
Vice Governor Jose Petit Baldado would hand over the award through the resolution authored by Board Member Melimore Saycon.
Arnaiz created Task Force 24, an the inter-agency law enforcement agency, not only to serve as a formidable deterrent against all forms of crimes but also as a means to eradicate professional jealousy and rivalry among them.
The task force is composed of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the province headed by Provincial Director Melvin Ramon Buenafe, Dumaguete police station chief Deonard Carlos, PNP's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group; PNP-Maritime group, PNP-Aviation Group, PNP's 705th Provincial Mobile Group, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency, Regional Intelligence Office, Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Group of the PNP provincial office, and the Traffic Management Group.
Since its creation early last year, the group has helped reduce the incidence of crimes and led to the subsequent arrests of crime suspects.
