Board authorizes guv to sign agro-reforestation agreement

THE Provincial Board has authorized Governor George Arnaiz to sign an agreement with Mayor Amor Baldado of Manjuyod for an agro-reforestation project.
The Provincial Government earlier set aside P500,000 to implement the project in Manjuyod.
The fund is part of the P12-million Regreening Oriental Negros Program of Arnaiz.
The governor set up the program to reforest the denuded mountains and watershed of the province to ensure ecological balance.
Arnaiz reiterated his call to all municipalities and cities in the province to submit their agro-reforestation program proposal to be able to avail of the program fund.
Under the program, the Provincial Government will give a counterpart amount to the budget allocated by the local government unit for agro-reforestation.
