CAP owes Silliman P30M; 50 scholars drop out
By Maricar Aranas

AT LEAST 50 scholars dropped out of Silliman University in the first semester of this year because of the failure of College Assurance Plan (CAP) to pay its debt to the university that has soared to P30 million.

Professor Leonor Briones, chairman of the school Board of Trustees, however, believed CAP would be able to pay the debt "but not now."

Many parents shouldered the tuition fees of their children studying at Silliman in the second semester last year because of CAP's failure to pay its scholarship obligations.

Briones said the university has already written the Plan to inform it of its outstanding debt.
