Trade dep't warns businesses operating without registration By Syril G. Repe
THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Negros Oriental warned that businesses that are not registered with DTI could not operate.
DTI issued the warning after a government driver from Siaton went to the DTI office in Dumaguete City Tuesday complaining that his business e-load retailer, I-GEN Portal International was not registered in the city but in Pasig City, Metro manila.
Romeo Cornelio III said last June 16 he bought a multi-load worth P7,980 to register as a member of the e-load retail group.
Cornelio said he was surprised when I-GEN Portal-Dumaguete head Manolito Saldivar did not issue him an official receipt.
He said, he also learned, that as a member, he would be entitled to insurance worth P15,000 and the dealer, P300,000.
The multi-load is applicable to all Globe, Smart, and Sun cellular subscribers.
Nianhi ko sa DTI aron mangutana kon narihistro ba ang company sa I-Gen portal, apan wala man diay, so illegal gayud kon mamaligya ko,matud ni Saldivar nga wala risibo kay single proprietor man daw siya" Cornelio said.
I-GEN Portal, which opened business on the first floor of Spanish Heritage Building a few months ago, is now closed.
