Big time drug pusher nabbed

TASK Force 24 apprehended a suspected drug personality during a buy-bust operation at Barangay Looc Wednesday.

The suspect is identified as Julio Manaba, a native of San Carlos City Negros Occidental but presently residing in Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City.

Manaba admitted selling shabu, saying he has no other means of livelihood.

He said his income from selling shabu is what he spends to feed his four children and also the two kids of his girlfriend Hazel Elnar.

Two sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from the suspect's pocket including the P250 marked money.

Manaba was standing along Flores Avenue waiting for a customer.

Manaba claimed he uses shabu as medication for asthma disease.

He said sniffing shabu was effective for his asthma because it makes him more active and healthy.

The suspect is facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 for selling and possession of n illegal substance.

Meanwhile, National Bureau of Investigation special agent Miguel Dungog said they have sharpened their intelligent network in Barangay Looc after a series of reports confirmed many are using minors to sell shabu.
