ACSAT Lightning to strike today

THE ACSAT basketball team will strike a second game Wednesday against rival AMA Computer College in the first game on the ongoing elimination round of the 6th Inter-School Governor Cup Basketball Championship at the Lamberto Macias Sports Center at Capitol area.

The Collegio de Sta Catalina de Alejandrea will also meet Saint Paul University Dumaguete in the main game, vying for their first victory.

The ACSAT Lightning won over Saint Paul University in their first meeting last Saturday and secured their first win with final score, 77-53.

Meanwhile, the ERCO Sports Center held its 5th Double Badminton Men's and Women's Championship, at the ERCO Sports Center in North Road, Daro.

Jun Lugi Pido, tournament director, said the two-day tournament, which started last Friday and ended Saturday, is a yearly sports activity aimed at helping players enhance their skills.

Key players Ruel Dales and John Distrito posted two sets win, 21-19, 21-14, over opponents, Micheal Jariol and Decoy Redista.

Dales and Distrito were declared as champions in the Class- C category, while Redista and Jariol landed second place.

Winners in other events include: Nonoy Fernandez and Mario Elnar, champion for Men's Doubles - Class E, Don Romero and Seth Ruiz for the second place; Gian Elnar and Segfred Tebio, champion in Class D, Tongky Valente and Ton-Ton Suico for the second place.

In the women's division: Marilou Rebuguillo and Katrina Currativo were hailed as champions, followed by Ma-an Pinili Analie Jarden in the second place.

Winners received cash prizes and trophies.
