City fiesta sports activities kick off

THE City of Dumaguete, through the city sports office, will highlight different sports activities for the upcoming 59th Charter Anniversary and Fiesta celebration on November 24-25.

Jose A. Guirit, chairman of the sports committee, said the sports showdown will kick off on November 4 starting with the fun run, which involves distances of 3 and 5 kilometers. It will start and end at the City Hall quadrangle.

On November 3-18, there will be a Fiesta Open Invitational Basketball Tournament. The venue will be at the City Hall playing court.

The other events include; Children Football Festival on November 3-11 at the Quezon Park, Paddled Banca race (4 in the team) on November 11 at Rizal Boulevard, Airsoft Tournament on November 17-18 at the Dumaguete City High School Ballfield, Fiesta Open volleyball men tournament on November 19-26 at the City hall covered court, Sandurot Mountain Bike race on November 18 at Rizal Boulevard, Far Eastern (Sapnay-tukag Binaryo) Volleyball Tournament (3 in the team) at the Quezon Park, Palarong Pilipino on November 24 at the Quezon park, GUD-Kawasaki Banca Ralli (motorized banca) on November 25 at Rizal Boulevard, and Water Sports Exhibition on November 25 at Rizal boulevard.

Quirit said everybody is invited to watch the different sports activities.
