THE Provincial Government and the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital will start the implementation of the so-called "Fourmula One" project after receiving a cash allocation in the form of negotiable instruments for the purpose.
Provincial health officer Dr. Dante Domingo and Governor Emilio Macias II announced the release of 2.2 million pesos to star the initial phase of the project.
Domingo said that the governor was already informed about this development during their monthly meeting.
Fourmula One is the umbrella program of all USAid-funded health programs in the country and Negros Oriental is one of its pilot provinces.
The provincial health officer said the funds would be used for the creation of the health investment plan and for training activities focusing on maternal and child care, hospital procurement procedures, public finance management, and health reforms.
Domingo said the program they are adopting is intended to strengthen and firm up existing ones.
The funds, however, couldn't be used for purposes other than training because this is the intended target for the initial allocation.
Macias said that early next year, Capitol is expected to receive another allocation for capability and equipment upgrading.
One of the recommendations of the governor is for health officials to prioritize the establishment of lying in clinics in cities and municipalities that do not have district hospitals.
