SILLIMAN University supports the investigation on the arrest of a speech instructor and a former employee who were allegedly involved in illegal drug use.
Silliman University president Dr. Ben Malayang III said Saturday due process should be observed in the prosecution of the suspects since they are innocent until proven guilty.
Police in a buy bust operation recently arrested Agapael Orteza, a speech instructor and retired SU history instructor Clemente Balasabas.
They were allegedly in the act of sniffing shabu in the house owned by Balasabas in Hibbard Avenue in Piapi.
Police authorities identified Barangay Piapi as one of the drug hotspots in the province.
Malayang said they have assigned another speech teacher to take over the class of Orteza.
The SU president said they would await the result of the police investigation before taking sanctions against the suspect.
He said the suspects deserve due process of law, but warned all employees of Siliman to strictly adhere to the order for a drug-free campus. Violators will face administrative sanctions, Malayang also said.
