Friday, February 22, 2008 Capitol wants to retain Buenafe as cop chief
NEGROS Oriental Governor Emilio "Dodo" Macias is just waiting for the reply to his letter to Philippine National Police Chief Avelino Razon on his request to retain Sr. Supt. Melvyn Ramon Buenafe as provincial police director.
Macias wants Buenafe retained even if his tour of duty in Negros Oriental was about to an end.
The governor said this is one of the main reasons why he junked the three names in the list of officials given to him by the Police Regional Office based in Cebu City from where he could pick Buenafe's replacement.
The three police officials recommended by the regional office Sr. Supt. Jesus Gaquing, Sr. Supt. Federico Castro Jr., and Sr. Supt. Antonio Gardiola.
The governor explained that he wants the provincial police director to be someone who has already served in the province and acquainted with the different locations.
The governor remains positive that Razon will respond to his request favorably. (EBS)
