The victim, Expedita Batiancela, told police she was walking along Colon Street from the gasoline station on her way to Equitable PCI Bank to deposit the money when armed men on board a green Honda motorcycle blocked her way.
One of them pointed his gun at her and declared a hold-up.
Another man took the money and escaped towards Rizal Boulevard.
Benjie Po, on the other hand, told Sun.Star that he was the victim's escort. Po said he usually accompanies Batiancela when she deposits money at the bank near the gas station.
Po said he was surprised when one of the hold-uppers pointed a gun at him. "Wa ko kalihok. (I was not able to move)," said Benjie.
He said he could not describe the hold-uppers because he was very nervous and had difficulty remembering their faces.
Jenny Estoconing, Batiancela's co-casher, told Sun.Star she saw the incident.
She described one of the culprits who took the money as big and with a square face. The rest were of medium built.
She believed the hold-uppers were not from the city because they did not bother covering their faces.
Police investigator Armand Cruje believed the incident was an inside job. He was surprised why the culprits know that Batiancela was going to deposit money that day. (VLC)
