Saturday, April 05, 2008 PBB Housemate from Dumaguete asks for support By Edmund B. Sestoso
ONE of the two Dumaguetenas who were admitted into the Pinoy Big Brother reality show of ABS-CBN has sought the help of local officials in the city as part of a campaign not to be booted out of PBB House.
The grandmother of Rona Marie Sedillo Libby appealed before last Thursday's regular session of the City Council.
Rona's grandmother, a resident Brangay 8 in Dumaguete City, appeared in the regular session, assisted by ABC president and Councilor Raul Infante, asking for financial assistance aimed at producing streamers that will be posted around the city so that she will be known all over the province.
Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling directed the concern to the Committee on Tourism which promotes and increases tourism activities in the province.
ABC President Infante revealed that they were earlier forewarned by local Office of the Commission on Audit (COA) about the release of funds for such purpose is prohibited especially when use privately.
With this, legislators came up with a contract of donation supporting Libby so that COA would not question them.
The very famous television reality show Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition evicts a participant every Saturday with the least number of votes.
