THE Provincial Board of Negros Oriental supported the move of the House of Representatives in institutionalizing pre-school educations, including the increase in wages of daycare worker, throughout the country, a local official said.
This is in connection with House Bill 111 of Representative Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara.
The bill aims to institutionalize pre-school education at the same time increase the monthly compensation of day care workers.
Vice Governor Jose "Petit" Baldado said as far as the province is concerned, it could not financially cope with the wages of day care workers.
Badado said Angara's bill is anchored on the premise of better education for pre-school education contributory to better academic performance.
This will help reduce the number of repeaters hence, it will result on the cutback on the educational expenditures, he said.
The vice governor also explains that what is good in the bill is that day care centers will constitute as a public sector pre-school institutions.
The enactment of the bill into a law will provide necessary funding support for the national sector of pre-school program and the increase in the monthly compensation of day care workers, he added.
