Muggers team extend winning streak

STAR player Tating Jimar led the Muggers to another victory after crushing their rivals Sagrada team, 80-66, in the first game on the ongoing Inter-Tinago Basketball Showdown played Monday evening at the Tinago Auditorium.

The Sagrada ball clubs led in the first quarter 18-12, then in the second quarter despite the back-to-back basket made by Jimar in the three point area, but Sagrada control the game with three points led in the final second quarter, 36-33.

Jimar played his impressive moves in the third quarter and scored 11 points to lead his team in five minutes left. But the Sagrada cagers got a five points advantage, 55-50.

In fourth quarter, Jimar in foul trouble scored only four points in two minutes in the final period.

But, Jimar showed his talent in the final two minutes in the ball games to spark their victory, 80-66.

The Muggers team led bracket A with 6-0 win loss card, while Sunny Electrical Supply in second spot.

Meanwhile in Bracket B, The Lucky Terminal led in team standing with 6 wins and 1 loss, while in second place Voxdei with 5-0 win cards.

In the second game the young Spartans demolished old Born 2b Alive team with the final score 66-54.

The tournament is one of the highlights of the upcoming fiesta celebration on May 2-3 next month. (SGR)
