Saturday, April 26, 2008 Arroyo promotes NegOr's major tourism spots
PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo personally promoted the major tourist attractions in Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental by mentioning the places in her sorties in the country.
"I am always coming back here to remind the Philippines and the whole world that Negros Oriental is one of the beautiful vacation spots of the Philippines," she said during the media interaction Friday.
According to Arroyo, Apo Island is now considered as the world's famous diving spots.
She added that Apo Island is even among the subject matters in one of the exhibits in the Chicago Museum in the United States.
Arroyo also acknowledged the efforts made by Governor Emilio Macias II to develop Lake Balanan in Siaton town.
The President committed to visit the place in her next visit to the province.
She also made mention of the famous whale and dolphin watching in Bais City, adding she was awed by the natural wonders and beauty of the spots in the province.
The President arrived Friday morning in Dumaguete City. She was the principal guest of the 88th birthday anniversary of former congressman Herminio Teves.
