Sibulan closes Okoy dumpsite

They are now looking for a new site, he added.

He urged each barangay in Sibulan, that while waiting for a new dumpsite, they may convene the barangay-based Solid Waste Management Committees to put campaign for the practice of segregation and composting.

He also asked them to discuss ahead where they may install a material recovery facility to put their solid wastes while waiting for an LGU garbage truck to collect them.

This way, he said, barangay residents would know where to put their garbage in case the garbage truck fails to collect them.

He also said that barangay councils can hire segregators to undertake this task for the material recovery facility. (EBS)
