THE pride of Negros Oriental Nino Belleza took his third gold medal after winning the 10,000 meter run for boys.
The third medal was an additional to his Friday triumph in the 5,000 and 3,000 meters steeplechase in the ongoing 3rd Philippine Olympic Festival Visayas Games.
Negros Occidental maintains the top with 34 gold medals, Iloilo got the third place upsetting Cebu City in Friday's medal standing.
The organizing committee said that changes in the medal standing are expected since most of the sporting events have yet to finish including swimming, arnis, wrestling, karatedo, chess and other ballgames.
In Muaythai, Negros Oriental and IloIlo Province shared the four golds at stake, with light fly Junjun Sinco and bantamweight Krishna Limbaga leading the victory of the host team.
Other province's gold medalist in the Taekwondo and Badminton competition were Jose Noe, Tan (junior divison), Chiquo Mar Ramos, (bantamweight), Lord Johnson Delegero (lightweight), Jennifer Villa (heavyweight women's category).
While Judea Turing and Charisse Isaw of Negros Oriental won two gold medals in badminton for the 14 years old division under the ladies single open category.
In indoor volleyball for boys, Negros Oriental team landed third place after demolishing Negros Occidental team, 2-1.
Bacolod City captured the gold medal against Tacloban City, who landed in second place with final set, 2-1.
In the girls' category, Negros Occidental volleybelle beat Negros Oriental team in two games in their best of three finals, 25-15, 25-1 and 25-19, 25-12 to pocket the gold medals. (EBS)
