Some dads not informed on Ramos' visit in GSC

THE scheduled visit of former President Fidel V. Ramos in General Santos
City Friday caught members of the City Council by surprise.

The former president is scheduled to meet the department heads and councilors at the City Hall but some city councilors were surprised as they were just informed of Ramos' visit during their regular session at the City Hall Thurdday.

"We were even surprised, na darating si (ex) president Ramos. But as far as the agenda is concern, hindi kami na-inform," Councilor Lourdes Casabuena said.

Casabuena said they were not informed on what topics that would be discussed during the meeting with the former president Friday.

Councilor Eduardo Leyson III also echoed Casabuena's statement, saying he was not "well-informed" of Ramos' scheduled visit Friday.

At the same time, the invitation did not specify the venue and time of Ramos supposed meeting with officials at the City Hall.

"Karon lang nako nadunggan no, natingala gani ko sa invitation morag paingon daw dinhi kay mosuroy siya sa mga department heads," Leyson said.

When asked on the arrival time of Ramos, Councilor Franklin Gacal Jr. said he had no information on that.

Ramos had met officials of the executive department and members of the City Council in Davao City last Tuesday.

During the meeting, the former president challenged Davao City officials of making their city as the center of the East Asian Region. (Danilo A. Reyes)
