Aguja is new party-list rep

TWO members in the Philippine Congress now represent General Santos, as Akbayan party-list's Mario Aguja was proclaimed and inducted as the latest member to the Philippine House of Representatives early last week.

A professor at the Mindanao State University, Aguja arrived Tuesday morning and immediately paid a courtesy call to General Santos City Mayor Pedro Acharon Jr.

Aguja, now sitting in Congress with Rep. Darlene Antonino, offered to help the city mayor promote the city's development projects.

The other Akbayan party-list representative earlier elected is Rep. Loretta Ann Rosales. Accompanying Aguja at the city hall were Ronald Llamas of Akbayan and TV host Randy David.
