Bribery charge up to Salangsang: Oco

COUNCILOR Orlando Oco Thursday said it will be up to City Administrator Rodrigo Salangsang to file charges of bribery attempt against a city hall contractor who was accused of trying to bribe the latter.

Oco, chairman of the city council blue ribbon committee said he would not sponsor a resolution urging Salangsang to file the said case against Tessie Reyes, owner of TC Reyes Construction.

But Oco also said he could not prevent other councilors from passing a said resolution.

"Depende na iyan sa ibang konsehal na gustong mag-sponsor ng naturang resolusyon," said Oco.(It is up to the other councilors if they want to sponsor the resolution)

The blue ribbon committee earlier recommended TC Reyes Construction to be banned from further doing any transaction with the city government.

"Napaka-demanding naman kung ipapasa ko pa ang resolusyon na iyan para gawin ni Salangsang dahil mayroon namang batas para diyan.

Hayaan na lang natin na mag-file siya ng kaso o hindi," Oco added.(It would be too demanding if I would pass that resolution for Salangsang to do it because we have laws governing the issue.

Let him be the one to decide whether he will file a case or not).
