GenSan gymnast is Miss Mindanao Games 2003
MATI, Davao Oriental -- Fifteen-year old gymnast Reyna delos Reyes of General Santos City was chosen as the Miss Mindanao Games 2003 during a beauty and talent contest held Thursday night at the municipal hall basketball court.
The 5'4 tall Delos Reyes, who won five gold medals in gymnastics -- individual all around RSG, ribbon, hoop, ball and team championship WAG -- also won the Miss Friendship and Best in Sportswear awards. She received a plaque, gift checks plus a free plane ticket from Air Philippines awarded by Philippine Sports Commissioner Leon "Binggoy" Montemayor and Mayor Francisco Rabat's wife.
She bested eight other candidates including Tagum City's Rosendel Tarazona, first runner-up; Cagayan de Oro's June Rey Padla, second runner-up; and Lanao del Sur's Arjie Minoza, third runner-up. LDR
