30 join PSC-PFF football referees' course in S. Cotabato
POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato - Thirty coaches and senior players passed the three-day football referees' course sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Academy here last October 29-31.
The course was conducted by Philippine Football Federation chief referee Jimmy Somogod and sponsored by PSC Commissioner Leon "Binggoy" Montemayor.
During the opening, Montemayor was represented by his chief of staff Noli Tacay, who was accompanied by PSC Socsargen coordinator Lito delos Reyes and regional director Victorio Sai.
Also present were Polomolok Municipal Mayor Jordan Reyes, Vice Mayor Noel Abellera, Kagawad Florence Bansuelo, Mt. Matutum Football Association president Omar Gallinero and secretary-general Reyman Rusty Jayme.
"We're very much honored for the approval of our request from the PSC. We can now move forward a step closer to our goal which is to develop quality referees, to ensure fair play, to apply for membership with the PFF, and at the same time, interpret the laws of the game correctly," Gallinero said.
