Cooperatives urged to revitalize

COOPERATIVES members are urged to "reinvigorate their organization in the face of decreasing number of cooperative survival and success", said Sarangani Mayor Narciso Grafilo.

In an assembly attended by only 12 cooperatives out of 88, Grafilo expressed disappointment on the decline of "cooperativism", and blamed it on the controversy that hit the province early this year.

He asked members of cooperatives: "don't allow yourselves to be used in ghost projects and anomalous transactions."

Grafilo offered his office to help mobilize support from government agencies to revitalize the cooperative spirit in the town. Merlyn F. Velarde
