CIDG agents nab cop for murder try
* SPO1 Raul Capote also accused of arbitrary detention and serious physical injuries
A POLICE sergeant was nabbed by elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 12 for various charges including murder attempt.
Now in custody of the court is SPO1 Raul Capote who is being accused of robbery with intimidation, illegal entry, arbitrary arrest and attempted murder.
Capote reportedly barged into the house the house of a certain Ibrahim Cadatuan in Lanton, Apopong and pistol-hipped the complainant in front of his family noon of October 28.
The policeman, together with several other companions, also allegedly threatened to kill Cadatuan.
In his affidavit complaint, the victim further alleged that the police sergeant claimed he planted explosives around the house of Cadatuan, a member of a group of claimants claiming ownership over some portion of the disputed former Alcantara ranch in Apopong.
At the time of the incident, Capote was reportedly not in uniform and was brandishing a high-powered rifle and a hand grenade.
The policeman also reportedly failed to show the victim any warrant of arrest search order from the court.
Cadatuan claimed he was reportedly forced to admit to several crimes he did not commit.
"Capote was consistent in saying that I will be buried anytime within the day with my head cut," he stated in his complaint.
As a result of the incident, Cadatuan filed several criminal complaints against Capote and his companions.
Early this week, CIDG 12 agents apprehended Capote on the strength of several warrants of arrest issued by Municipal Trial Court Judge Oscar Noel.
CIDG 12 chief clerk Alejandro Pedroso said Capote was disarmed of his service sidearm and is now raising money for his bail.
Meanwhile, the CIDG 12 office advised Capote to undergo medical examination to determine the extent of his injuries.
