Ursabia yields post

THE General Santos City coastguard office has a new commander.

Lt. Commander Oscar Endona took over the post from Lt. Cdr. George Ursabia, whose relief was part of the routine reshuffling of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Ursabia, whose promotion to commander was announced Saturday, will be assigned at the PCG headquarters as assistant chief of staff for maritime security.

The General Santos PCG station was voted best station last year with Ursabia at the helm.

Ursabia, however, said the local PCG office will be in good hands under the leadership of Endona.

"He is my student before at the Coastguard training command and I know his ability," he said.

Endona was previously assigned as coastguard station commander in Catbalogan, Samar.

The new PCG station chief is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy.
