Gulle: Barnacles slow down the boat

BARNACLES are tiny marine animals that attach themselves unto the hulls of wooden boats, or any like host. In time these would thicken and cause drag that would considerably reduce the crafts speed. The ticker they are the slower the boat. Boating enthusiasts thus regularly brush the underside of their vessels' hull to see to it that none of these parasites would stick, to ensure the smooth sailing capability of their craft.
Our country is something like a sailing craft. There are many kinds of barnacles and parasites that would undermine its hull. If we be too lazy, complacent and stupid, these parasites would abound and destroy our boat and eventually sink it. In time, it would be nothing but a mound of coral reefs beneath the surface would be visible.
Of course, there are a lot of causes that could destroy and sink our boat. We could be stupid and blind as to sail unto a reef and break it. Or else we would be ignorant of the nuances of seamanship and navigation that if unaware, we could sail into a storm and sink. But then we could teach ourselves to learn the intricacies of sailing and proper maintenance in order to avoid disaster.
But barnacles could be attacking our boat while we are complacent and engrossed in our selfish pursuits on or off board that we are not aware our boat is already waterlogged.
The Communists are like barnacles. They attack in the subtlest manner and in many ways hard to detect. Only with the greatest vigilance and awareness of their purpose and modus operandi, that we can prevent our own destruction.
First, we should not forget that their unswerving goal is to take over, whatever the cost in terms of life and money, nor for how long. But first they would wreck our economy to weaken us, like the barnacles. Thus, they worm their way into all our institutions to get at our weakest point of resistance.
You can be sure they are among the leadership of say, KMU, Bayan, Mamalakaya, Piston, Gabriela, National Federation of Labor, and like organizations. By their pronouncements (mostly anti-US or anti-government) you can tell they are Communist fronts. They react vehemently, even violently, on any move against these organizations.
Now they are entrench in Congress, thanks to the so-called Party List representation. I suspect Congress has been so infiltrated that it passed such a preposterous law. The same is true with the law that freed the murdering communists and legalized the Communist Party of the Philippines. Thanks to Pres. Corazon Aquino and her allies who, in their hate of Marcos had unwittingly (wittingly?) become instruments of the Reds. It makes me wonder whether the late Ninoy Aquino was not a Communist.
They have been working so hard and without let-up, with one single purpose, destroy our way of life and supplant their own revolutionary Communist "utopia". Never mind if they fail in this or that area. They consider them only temporary setback. Never mind if their predecessors, pioneers of this revolutionary movement (Lenin, Stalin, down to their successors, to Gorbachev) had failed to make it stick in their own turf (Russia) at the cost of several million of lives and billions worth of property, and more than seventy years of depredation. The same is to them temporary setback. They must think, therefore, despite everything, that the Philippines is a likely picking for their revolution.
At present, preventing their entry into our midst is no longer the issue. They have been with us for so long. They are in almost in all sectors of society - in the clergy, the academe, the military, labor, and even the government. There is probably no sector that they are not present. They come by the front door. They come by the back door. By any means they come.
All we can do now is to thwart their every move wherever and whenever we detect their designs. They worm their way to the leadership of say labor unions, the church, and the student organizations. They are most active in these fronts. You can find them at the forefront of all mass actions and demonstrations, supposedly championing the lot of the "poor and the oppressed."
Watch who the Communist front organizations are supporting this election. You can be sure they are Communists, or Communist sympathizers, or fellow travelers, or somebody they think stupid enough to manipulate later on.
For those who care, just remember always that the ultimate goal of Communism is to dominate the world and the whole population slaves to Communism.
That they don't believe in God, let alone observe the teachings of Christ, should be enough to scare you. "So watch and pray that you may not fall into temptation."
