DTI prepares for Yaman Gensan '04
By Allen S. Terencio

THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) office here said preparations are underway for the 2nd Yaman Gensan project way ahead of the city's business month celebration in June.

The month-long business activity started last year.

DTI said it aims to improve economic activities in the city in the months between the Kalilangan Festival in February and the Tuna Festival in September.

The Yaman Gensan project also aims to develop small and medium enterprises (SMEs), create more money in circulation, increase influx of visitors and tourists in the city, and increase investment.

Yaman Gensan was celebrated last year on the last week of June until the third week of July.

The activities conducted were seminars and trainings for SMEs; trade fairs and garden shows, national conventions, congress, fora, business meetings and workshops; and sports tournament.

DTI, however, has yet to finalize plans on this year's Yaman Gensan activities.
