Billones tells cops: 'Wear your helmets'
CHIEF Superintendent Antonio Billones last week warned all policemen in the region to obey traffic rules and ordered police officers riding on motorcycles to wear helmets.
This order came after several traffic enforcers and motorists complained that policemen are ignoring the ban on motorist who fails to wear their helmets.
The Land Transportation Office here started to implement the said traffic rule after it noted a rise in the number of casualties and injuries to motorists who figured in vehicular accidents because of their failure to wear headgears.
"Nobody should be exempted from the said traffic rule," Billones told reporters.
He also told LTO officials and traffic enforcers to report any policeman who will ignore the said traffic rules.
"Policemen should set the example," the PRO 12 director further said. (EGE)
