Police regional office revamp looms
POLICE Regional Office (PRO) 12 Director Chief Supt. Antonino Billones last week said at least three senior police officers will be relieved from their post following a directive from the Philippine National Police headquarters specifying that only officers with the rank of senior superintendent are qualified to occupy their respective offices.
Expected to be relieved from their posts are acting city police director Supt. Willie Dangane, provincial directors Supt. Melchor Loyola of North Cotabato and Supt. Casimiro Medes of Sarangani.
The regional police director however declined to say when these police officers would be replaced.
Billones said they are still waiting for official orders from Camp Crame although he also told Sun.Star that he already submitted at least three nominees as replacements of the said police officials for the approval of the local government units where they are currently assigned.
This was confirmed by General Santos City mayor Pedro Acharon Jr. who said PNP chief Director General Edgardo Aglipay is determined to implement the said policy.
Before he left for Manila Friday, Acharon said he is still looking for a possible replacement for Dangane.
He said he did not personally know the nominees earlier submitted to him.
"Actually, that is one of the purpose of my trip to Manila," he added.
Aside from the three police officials, several officers heading directorial positions in PRO 12 with a rank of superintendent and below will also be replaced, according a reliable source from the said police regional office. (EGE)
