GMA Pinoy TV kicks off with star-studded US extravaganza
POPULAR programs of GMA Network will soon be viewed in the United States through the international channel GMA Pinoy TV. Carrying the distinction of being the premier broadcast station for all genres and time blocks in the Philippines, GMA is ready to bring to US-based Filipinos the brand of entertainment that ushered the network to its Number 1 spot in the country.
GMA Pinoy TV will kick off with a star-studded show aired live via the noontime musical program "SOP" at former NBA home court with a capacity of 17,000 to 20,000, The Forum in Los Angeles on July 16 and at The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on July 23, in the biggest coming-out concert ever to be seen in the West Coast.
The 7,000-seat auditorium boasting of state of the art theatrical lighting and concert sound system has hosted guests like Celine Dion, Bette Middler, The Rolling Stones, and Madonna.
Come July, our local stars will have the chance to take center stage where these gigantic names have.
Leading the pack will be main "SOP" stars spearheaded by Asia's Songbird, Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs and Jaya.
Together with them will be R&B Prince, Jay-R, Dingdong Dantes, Karylle, Malik, KC Montero and Gabby Eigenmann. Other featured artists joining this entertainment powerhouse are the young stars from "SOP Gigsters": Richard and Raymond Gutierrez, Chynna Ortaleza, Jennylyn Mercado and Mark Herras.
The show will have the special participation of Mr. Joey de Leon, Kuya Germs, Richard Gomez, and Ms. Mel Tiangco.
Preceding the launch of GMA Pinoy TV in the evening, the Kapuso Network in partnership with Starmedia Entertainment and other establishments are conducting a "Fiesta GMA" on July 23 at noon until 5:00PM at the same venue.
"Fiesta GMA" will provide the best of what San Francisco is known for: clothing retailing booths, car dealers, importers of Asian products to merchandisers and a cauldron of different ethnic tummy fillers to satisfy the palette.
The "Fiesta GMA" aims to be a family affair as special surprises have been prepared to cater to the young and young at heart.
A myriad of entertainers will take part in "Fiesta GMA"; among them is the beautiful wife of Richard Gomez, Lucy Torres, who will be one of the hosts of Fiesta GMA.
GMA Pinoy TV is ready to make groundbreaking changes in the viewing habits of our Filipino American brothers and sisters in the US as SOP is tasked in charge to bring in the party. And it promises to be nothing less than monumental at that. (PR)
