Editorial: Saving Sarangani Bay

LAST Saturday, a group of dive enthusiasts dropped a number of artificial reef domes into the bottom of Lion's Beach.

It was the first serious attempt to demonstrate how fragile our bay is and highlight the urgency of getting our acts together.

It is ironic however that it took two American and one British expatriates to demonstrate the seriousness of the situation.

Added to that, these foreigners even spent their own money to the job.

That well-documented environmental activity should serve as wake up call to local executives whose government units lie and serve the bay.For the sake of the children that are yet to be born.
