Jail warden told to explain escape of minor detainees
GOVERNOR Miguel Rene Dominguez has directed the jail warden of the Sarangani Provincial Jail to explain why the two minor detainees were able to escape last August 20.
Dominguez issued the memorandum to Renato Purisima the other day after reports regarding the escape of the two minors reached the governor's office.
The two minors, however, were captured in a manhunt operation three hours after their escape.
Reports have it that provincial jail officers Pancho Lalantacon, Frederick Tañedo and Edmund Nagal were busy playing spider game when the two detainees sneaked out of the Sarangani Provincial Jail.
The two minors managed to climb up the concrete peripheral fence of the jail located in Barangay Baluntay, Alabel.
Purisima told reporters that he had already directed said jailguards to shed light on the issue.
The jail warden claimed that he has a standing directive on all jail guards not to engage gambling even in spider game inside the jail. (AZ)
