Extra Challenge celebrates '2nd Anniversary' this week
THE program that owes its birthright from GMA News and Public Affairs' magazine show "Extra, Extra", which successfully ran for four years, Extra Challenge started out as a segment, which evolved into a 30-minute program.
It was first to introduce the reality-based program concept to Filipino television. Fearlessly fusing the trend of reality shows abroad in a single program--a series of episodic "challenges", which airs from Monday to Friday and with concepts/themes changing nearly every week. It was the best of the world's reality shows rolled into one.
Soon after it was given the timeslot after "24 Oras" in September 2003, it changed the landscape of the primetime block. Competition was never the same.
Original and unique, it consistently won the ratings game, toppled more than 10 shows pitted by the rival network and set new heights in the numbers game.
And to celebrate two successful, to a point phenomenal, years of Pinoy reality TV, Extra Challenge brings together a dozen brave and daring young men and women to face up the most grueling series of challenges the program has ever put up.
Enter Extra Challenge's second anniversary special--the P2M EXTRA CHALLENGE! Racing across the country, the tandems of Dennis Trillo and Bianca King, Joanne Quintas and Jackie Forster, Maui Taylor and Joyce Jimenez, Kara David and Jiggy Manicad, Raph and Renz Fernandez, and IC Mendoza and Inday Garutay must get the better of each other to earn for themselves TWO MILLION PESOS!
"Shop 'til you drop" in Alabang... Boat race in Boracay... Rappelling in Cebu... Jumping from a bridge in Cagayan de Oro... Riding Vigan's kalesa ... Having a taste of Laoag's Sinanglaw... Until the race' final leg in Pagudpod... This is the P2M Extra Challenge... and more. Challengers will also be treated to Extra Challenge's newest twist - Paolo's Way and Ethel's Way. (PR)
