MSUans win global minds competition
By Leonard V. Flores

THE Mindanao State University (MSU) in Gensan was rewarded in sending its students to the 1st Global Minds, an Inter-Mindanao Schools Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Quiz Bowl held in Port Café Hall, Gaisano General Santos.

Zainal Mohammad Limpao Osop, a senior IT Science student of MSU, bested 13 other participants from different schools in Region 12 and emerged the grand champion.

Joseph Ivan Mordeno of Notre Dame Kidapawan College and another MSU student Richard Panes settled as first and second runners-up, respectively.

"We are making our schools in Mindanao be advocates of ICT industry development through their participation in various ICT development endeavors such as this ICT Quiz Bowl," said Kenneth Ang, chief executive officer of STI Gensan.

Global Minds, which was organized by the Department of Trade and Industry 12 in cooperation with the Animation Council of the Philippines, National Telecommunications Commission, the Local Government of General Santos City and STI Gensan, is a component activity of the recently concluded e-Business Week Celebration in Region 12.

It was sponsored by GlobeLines, GlobeQuest, and GlobeSolutions.
