Guv denies seeing ex-poll exec Garci
By Aquiles Zonio

SULTAN Kudarat Governor Pax Mangudadato has vehemently denied he met with controversial Comelec official Virgilio Garcillano when the latter landed in Zamboanga Sibugay last week.

Mangudadato revealed he has not set foot yet in Zamboanga Sibugay where the reported meeting between him and Garcillano took place.

"If he (former Senator Francisco Tatad) believes in God, then he has committed a sin. Allah knows I have not yet gone to Sibugay," Mangudadato said.

Tatad earlier claimed that the governor and Garcillano met in Sibugay after the latter arrived from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

But Mangudadato said, "Anong kailangan ko kay Garcillano? Wala naman akong kailangan sa kanya eh. Even during the last election, I did not talk to him. In fact, it was printed in one paper that a Luzon-based governor talked to Garcillano to help my political rival win in the election."

The Sultan Kudarat governor claimed he was has gone anywhere else from November 18 up to the time the reports about the arrival of Garcillano in Mindanao broke out.

Mangudadato said he didn't need the help of any Comelec official because he won overwhelmingly against his opponent in the last election.
