3 inmates bolt Koronadal jail

KORONADAL CITY -- Three inmates sawed off the steel bars of their detention cell and disappeared into the night Wednesday last week.

Senior Police Officer 2 Jimmy Gacuya, jail duty officer, was shocked when he learned that three of his wards were missing when he inspected their cells the following morning.

He identified the escapees as Renato Losaya, 22, Xandrix Peralta, 26, and Brix Masiglat. They are facing theft and carnapping charges.

It was not the first time that inmates have escaped from the detention center, just a few meters away from the police station.

Police are still conducting manhunt operations against the escapees.
