8th Mindanao-wide Taekwondo championships takes off

MINDANAO Taekwondo jins are going to show wares here in celebration of the 40th Foundation Anniversary of South Cotabato and 7th T'nalak Festival.

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, together with the Philippine Taekwondo Association, Sagittarius Mines Inc., and Notre Dame of Marbel University-Supreme Student Government are organizing this year's 8th Mindanao-wide Open Taekwondo Championships and 2nd T'nalak Festival Taekwondo Competition.

Twenty-seven gyms and clubs from different areas in Mindanao are joining the Taekwondo challenge.

They include the Taekwondo gyms of Tupi, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, CARAGA, Iligan, Zamboanga, Sulu, Bukidnon, Cotabato, Tacurong Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani Province, General Santos, Davao City, Sto. Nino, Surallah, Dragon Heart, Braveheart and Marbel Defenders.

Contenders are divided into four divisions and two categories: senior division/advance category, junior division/advance category, mid-junior division/advance category, and children division/advance and novice category.

Philippine Taekwondo Ambassador Monsour del Rosario and Philippine Taekwondo Association Representative Tem Igor Mella are visiting the city to personally witness the competition.
