Penbank receives awards from BIR, BSP
PENBANK is on a roll as it recently received two special awards in the span of eight days.
The first is the 2005 Top Corporate Taxpayer Award given by the Bureau of Internal Revenue during the 2nd Annual Yaman Awards on July 20, 2006 at the Phela Grande Convention Center in General Santos City.
The affair, dubbed "a tribute to the City's entrepreneurs", was presented by the City Government of General Santos in cooperation with the SMED Council.
The Yaman Awards is a search for outstanding entrepreneurs of General Santos City who exemplify the true wealth and spirit of a true entrepreneur.
The awardees are recognized not only for their steadfast will for success, but because of the unswerving responsibility toward others.
The second is the Business Expectations Survey (BES) Respondent of the Year Award given by the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas on July 28, 2006 at the BSP Davao Regional Office in Davao City during an appreciation lunch and awarding ceremony for BSP stakeholders.
Monetary Board Member Juanita Amatong, in her keynote address said, "the BES is an important source of economic indicator and an essential tool in the BSP's monetary framework. This award will strengthen our partnership with respondents for completeness, credibility, accuracy and timeliness."
Penbank president Robert Cantoy, who received both awards, said, "these citations manifest our commitment not only to proper tax compliance but also to the BSP's efforts to gather sufficient and credible data which the country can use in its quest for growth and development."
