Doria commends town police force
MAITUM, Sarangani -- In his first visit to this town lying on the outskirts of the province, Chief Supt. German Doria found "one of the best" police stations.
The regional director said he was impressed how the police office here was being maintained.
"You have gone far beyond the standards of our regional office," Doria told local policemen Tuesday. "I think Maitum police station is one of the best police stations in Region 12."
Maitum, which is 107 kilometers west of General Santos City, has a population of 39,424 -- the least in all of Sarangani's seven towns.
Maitum's crime solution efficiency was 100 percent for the past 10 months under chief of police Senior Inspector Geronimo Dimayuga Jr.
In his brief remarks, Doria appreciated the "cleanliness of your surroundings, the orderliness of your office, your efficiency and how organized the office is."
Doria congratulated Dimayuga and his troops for "a job well done" and for their partnership with the community in preventing crimes and maintaining peace and order.
"I will recommend to the national headquarters that your police station be the best rural police station," the regional director said.
Doria said he will also urge all chiefs of police in the whole region to visit Maitum police station to "somehow copy or get an idea for replication in their respective offices." (Press release)
