N. Cotabato to pursue CAP claims of constituents

THE Provincial Government of North Cotabato recently announced it will spearhead efforts of residents in the province in the pursuit of their claims against the cash-strapped College Assurance Plan Philippines Inc. (CAP).

Governor Emmanuel Piñol said the province is willing to hire legal hands even from Davao City to go after the embattled pre-need education company.

Piñol announced in his regular weekly radio program that there would be a meeting in Kidapawan City on November 8 among College Assurance plan holders to consolidate efforts to pursue their claims against the firm.

"Many of these plan holders are ordinary people who invested their hard-earned money in CAP to secure their children's college education, people who could barely pay for their children's education and are now in a quandary because the company has gone bankrupt," Piñol said.

Various groups in the country have been going after College Assurance when the firm failed to fulfill its responsibility to its clients.
