Monday, June 04, 2007 Survey on businesses in C. Mindanao starts
KORONADAL CITY -- A survey covering 1,061 business establishments in Central Mindanao region has kicked off early this month for the 2006 Census of Philippine Business and Industry, the National Statistics Office regional office said in a report.
It said along with the 2006 CPBI project is a rider survey on the 2006 Input Output Survey of Philippines Business and Industry, which would cover 123 or 12.44 percent of the target business establishments in the region.
The report, dispatched by the Philippine Information Agency-Central Mindanao, said covered establishments are large-scale establishments having a total number of employees of 20 and above; and small/medium scale establishments with total number of employees below 10, except those with single proprietorship and single establishment status.
South Cotabato (including General Santos City and Koronadal City) has 988 establishments and Sarangani has 73 establishments that will be covered by the survey.
The greater part of business establishments in Southern Mindanao is situated in General Santos City.
The other cities that would also be covered by the survey are Tacurong, Cotabato, and Kidapawan.
At least 17 employees from the regional statistics office have already distributed and will collect the questionnaires from the respondents.
The survey includes data collection on economic activity, employment, hours worked, compensation, revenue, subsidies received, costs, capital expenditure, fixed assets and inventories.
