A GIANT pineapple firm based in Polomolok town, South Cotabato has donated one schoolbuilding for pre-schoolers in Mabuhay village in General Santos City.

Dolefil and its affiliates all over the world meet in Kalsangi, Polomolok town in South Cotabato last June 9-11 to discuss how to carry out and strengthen their social involvement worldwide.

Last week, Davis led other Dolefil top officials in the groundbreaking of a day care school building which the giant fruit company will put up with the help of Gawad Kalinga in a "GK Promised Land," a relocation site in Mabuhay village.

About 35 kids in Mabuhay are expected to benefit from the project.

Davis added that under the project dubbed "GK Sibol School," Dolefil will provide the construction materials while the residents of GK Promised Land will provide the labor component as counterpart.

After the construction phase, the Dolefil will also provide chairs and tables for the pre-school kids.

Dolefil has been very active not just in community development but including in medical outreach projects which benefited the poorest of the poor in South Cotabato-Sarangani-General Santos (Socsargen) area.

This is aside from being the top taxpayer of the Socsargen growth corridor area.

Aside from Dolefil top officials, also present during the groundbreaking rites were acting mayor Jose Orlando Acharon and Elmer Dy, project director of Gawad Kalinga 1. (Aquiles Zonio)
