SkyCable strengthens programming

IN ITS bid to bring subscribers the best program choices, SKYCable recently announced programming enhancements that will introduce all-new and exciting channels produced both by well-established international cable brands and locally syndicated ones.

SKYCable will be one of the first cable providers in the world to carry AXN Beyond by January 1, 2008. A spin-off channel of the widely popular action adventure station, AXN, which is a Sony Pictures Entertainment company, AXN Beyond will spotlight more sci-fi, supernatural, paranormal and out-of-the-ordinary shows like "The Dresden Files", a mystery/fantasy series based on the books by Jim Butcher and has Nicolas Cage as one of the executive producers.

Also available first on AXN Beyond is a sci-fi series called "PainKiller Jane" which is based on the cult comic book series of the same name.

Starring Kristanna Loken (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) as Jane Vasco, alias PainKiller Jane, as a superhuman who can not be killed, but she can still feel the pain.

Another new international channel to be introduced by SKYCable by next year is FOXCrime, the most popular 24-hour factual and fictional entertainment TV channel dedicated to crime, investigation and mystery. It is the ultimate channel where viewers will find all shadows of crime and investigation stories.

Suspense buffs can expect to see a mix of factual and fictional shows with spine-chilling thrillers and fast-paced action-packed dramas like "Dexter" featuring Michael C. Hall, "Texas S.W.A.T", "Trace Evidence: The Case Files of Dr. Henry Lee" and "Brotherhood", among other popular favorites like "CSI Miami", "CSI Las Vegas", "Law and Order" and "Kojak."

Apart from these international channels, SKYCable will also be airing starting next year locally syndicated channels. Coming soon will be a chic channel for women called Velvet which will carry some of the best programs of American TV.

Among these are "The View", the extremely popular and often controversial talk show produced and hosted by Barbara Walters, and the US classic and daily TV staple "Good Morning America" hosted by Diane Sawyer.

Other exciting shows include "Crossing Jordan", "E! News Weekend", "Desperate Housewives" and "Extreme Makeover Home Edition".
